Painting with Salt

Today I wanted to do something different with Karter. We used Elmers Glue and made a design on paper. Then we took some salt and poured it all over the top of the glue. I made sure the glue was covered very well with salt. Next was getting the colors ready. I have little bowls that I use for water coloring, so I got those out. I put a little bit of water in them, and a few drops of food coloring. Next we experimented. We found out you can NOT brush the salt with the paint brushes or the salt will come off. You have to dip the bruch in the paint, and then touch the salt with the brush. It was fun to watch the color spread out over the salt with each touch.
